My Poor Kevin is Power Pop. You've been warned!
From the urgency of "Isn't She Hot?!" to the almost
delicate pain of "Walking The Blues", guitar is king
here! In fact, the only keyboard playing resides
within the tongue in cheek, "Water In The River".
The vocals stand out in the Beach Boys-ish
harmonies of "Too Bad", and you can sense
a touch of Big Star in "The Luckiest Man On
The Earth". As for the lyrics, they reveal
a troubled soul (as the name My Poor
Kevin implies). What little joy of love that
is displayed in "Lost In A Girl" is firmly
checked by the pessimistic "In Love
Again"
