Although there were great songs written throughout the 1900's, no two
   decades of popular music have matched the quantity of quality songs as those
   composed in the 1930's and 1940's.  During this period, not only were
   melodies wonderfully constructed, but the lyrics were both poignant and
   memorable.

   This album brings to you some of the best songs ever written and, so as not
   to slight the many deserving songs of other musical eras, I have included a
   few of the many great songs of the 1950's.
